The third incarnation (or reincarnation) of Arson Island Resort. It all began with a silly idea of doing a really fucking big villiage. We quickly learned our lesson and killed off our camp to get rid of the slackers (reads: ravers), and became AIRID (Arson Island Resort is Dead). Damn itif we aren't at it again.
We are loud, rowdy, sarcastic, antagonizing, and at times we are a bunch of surly jerks. We like megaphones, we hate trance, we like to fight each other just about any chance we get, and take great joy in yelling at just about anybody. "Lush" is not a big enough word to address our ability to drink.

Back, new, expanded and relocated, we will be gifting the playa with body images and costuming. Airbrush, felt marker, henna, body paint and mixed media. Daytime hours, Thurs. eve. blacklight night. Organizers from Vancouver, WA, other artists from Anacortes, Portland and "the left coast". Interactive waiting room for self-and-neighbor ornamentation. Costume shop. Visiting body artists welcome (with own materials only). Also a chance to "paint the artists". You bring the "body canvas", we'll decorate it.

Bioluminati Mercury and 5:30

The Bioluminati Quest involves puzzles and challenges that incorporate interactive art installations and surprises all over Black Rock City. There are locked treasure chests (or Vaults of Heaven) located at the Bioluminati Camp some have clues posted as to how one might open them. The others remain a mystery. You can start the quest on your own at any time, but if you visit between 11 and 12 you can get an orientation to the path of the Bioluminati.

Black Rock City Animal Control Mercury & 5:00

BRCAC will make daily collections of pesky playa "creatures" who are running free causing disturbances to camps, streets and or persons of the City. These captured animals will be documented and tagged for scientific research and easy recognition, and possibly spayed/neutered and given "shots". Our trained staff will use the latest in animal reform practices to allow these potentially dangerous animals the chance to be reintroduced to life on the playa. If our staff concludes that an animal has achieved reformed status they will have the opportunity to be adopted by a responsible Black Rock City citizen. Otherwise they will be put to sleep.

Bluehouse returns to the playa with our renowned Interaction Bar and Shady(+) a pyramid shade structure featuring 1700 square feet of live grass to recover on. This year, Camp Dead Letter is teaming up with the United States Potsal Service to provide community based mail delivery. Based on the 9:00 plaza (11:30), the Dead Letter Truck drives the playa picking up, dropping off, and destroying mail. They specialize in lost causes - letters to that soulmate you just found and lost, cathartic letters that no one is ever supposed to read, break up letters, and letters that should have been sent but never made it.

Gròóvig emerges from the caffeinated heart of the Northwest, the beautiful emerald city of Seattle. Most of the people of groovig are repeat offenders -- errr, make that "burners" -- hailing from Comfort, Eville, Black Rock City Animal Control and the Space Virgins. After multiple years in larger camps, we are interested in pursuing a more intimate camp experience for BM'04. We are creating environments for social connections with others:
* The GravityBowl, which faces all riders towards each other
* Groov Studio: a dance floor used for partner dancing and lessons
* Yoga space
* Art studio
* Free coffee
We are resourceful, artsy and friendly, are a part of the larger BM community and are active in burner-related activities in out hometown (Critical Massive, StaticFactory, etc.)

Hushville is an aural oasis in a sea of chaos. We are an open village and everyone is welcome to camp with us, provided they abide by three rules: 1) No generators of any kind at any time; 2) No amplified sound; 3) Clean up after yourself. Burning Man 2001 was the first year for Hushville and it was a resounding success, with nearly 200 campers who were actually able to get a bit of sleep at night. Another 200 people joined us in 2002 and in 2003 the population hit 275. For 2004, we might cap attendance at 7.

Rainforest Refugee Camp (RRC) Returns as the Playa's "premier" relief station where over heated Participants from lands graced with lower temperatures and higher humidity can seek Refuge and ask for asylum from the harsh treatment they are enduring on the Playa. The entrance of the RRC has an overhead misting system giving the appearance of mist covered forests and clouds. Applicants for Refugee status shoud contact us... space is limited.

Seventh Seat Orions Belt and Mercury

Beyond the Vault of Heaven is the Seat of Judgement, a small, folding, chair which sits empty. Beyond that is another chair, and another, each grander in design, but just as empty. At last there is the seventh seat, occupied by not a person, but an office. An office defined by loving counsel, conflict resolution, and sometimes arbitration as arbitrary as the universe itself.
The Seventh Seat is intended as an intimate venue for people to connect with each other. We will be actively encouraging people to come to us and each other for advice, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, answers of all kinds, and, indeed, judgement. Counsel is so much more meaningful with a value assignation.
With so many empty chairs around, we will also be providing, well, seats. A place to rest in the day and interact meaningfully with other citizens.
