Black Rock City Animal Control 2500' & 195°
411 At Black Rock City Animal Control, we provide three primary services to the citizens of Black Rock City. First and foremost, we will make daily collections of those pesky playa "creatures" who are running free causing disturbances to the camps and/or streets of the City. Second, our trained staff will use the latest in animal reform practices to give these potentially dangerous "animals" the chance to be reintroduced to life on the playa. If our staff concludes that an animal has achieved reformed status they will have the opportunity to be adopted by a responsible Black Rock City citizen. Finally, we will offer search and rescue services for Black Rock City "animals" who have become separated from their home camps. Swing by BRC Animal Control and give a pet a home.

411 The Black Rock City Fashion Police is premiering in 2002. We have organized to enforce a strict dress code in Black Rock City. What is that code? Whatever we decide at the time! No costume--you're busted! Bad costume--you're busted! Good costume--you're busted! Those lucky enough to be busted will be summoned to Fashion Court, where Judge Kangaroo will adjudicate their violation. Don't worry about the outcome--everyone is guilty. Convicted fashion violators will then spin the Wheel of Punishment to find how they will atone for their crime. Mug shots of fashion criminals will be posted on our Web site. If this procedure sounds harsh and predetermined, fear not—violators may bribe their way out of the process at any point (depending on the quality of the bribe).

Usually in center camp, we sit around and drink beer and whiskey all day while people bring us items they need fixed or look for things they don't have. 411 BRC's first and best bike messenger company returns for its fourth year in business, this year with a dedicated staff of almost twenty messengers. If we can carry it, we'll deliver it, anywhere in the city. Send your own homemade gifts by messenger to your friends camping on the other side of the playa, or use our Official Playa Postcard/Message in a Bottle service to give props to the creator of your favorite art installation.
